✍️ The Role
We're looking for a passionate, highly motivated and creative product designer with the experience and depth of skills to comfortably take on complex UX, UI and interaction challenges.
You're an open minded and open-hearted human being that loves interacting with the people you work with and believe that collaboration is necessary in order to deliver exceptional product experiences that delight users. A well-rounded and pragmatic designer that knows and loves crafting high quality designs and beautiful details, but at the same time understand that scrappy conceptualisation, swift decision making and snappy execution is critical .
We imagine that you are curious, humble and motivated to design and deliver the high quality, delightful and user-centered experiences that are needed for Butter to become the world's best platform for virtual facilitation.
You'll be joining the Butter Product Design team and working closely with Chris, our CPO and co-founder. Together you will own the end to end design process and further fine-tune the role of product design in Butter going forward.
We expect that you hold yourself to high standards, and bring care and craft with you to help us.
💪 Requirements
- Several years of experience designing digital products across platforms (web, desktop and mobile).
- A solid portfolio demonstrating excellent product designs delivered within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to think through complex interaction design.
- Experience with and skills within the whole design process: from research and early ideation to delivering final designs for implementation.
- The ability to clearly articulate your thoughts and rationale behind design choices and the problems or needs they address.
- An eye for good design, attention to detail, and a genuine love for the craft
- Ability to express ideas in design and prototyping tools (we use Figma)
- Highly motivated and self-driven, with confidence and ability to think on your feet in a constantly changing environment.
⚙️ What you will be doing
- Design and prototype beautiful, high quality products that ship quickly.
- Iterate actively with prototypes at all levels of design fidelity, informed by user research, market trends, and business goals.
- Drive research, ideation, prototyping and testing features that solve customer problems and drive growth for Butter.
- Collaborate within and across teams to ensure that relevant insights and business goals guide what we build.
- Collaborate regularly with engineers to ship high-quality experiences.
- Help define and document product design practices, processes and how design operates at Butter.
- Facilitate ongoing design reviews and iterations during the sprint.
- Assist in growing and eventually leading the product design team when the company grows.
